Rocky Mountain Popcorn
Brand & Packaging Systems
Rocky Mountain Popcorn was an emerging specialty food brand entering a largely undeveloped packaged popcorn category as healthier snack options gained momentum. The company positioned popcorn as a flavorful whole-grain snack while expanding into adjacent, low-competition product categories. As lead designer and long-term consultant, I developed comprehensive brand and packaging systems for Rocky Mountain Popcorn and the Poplets snack line, supporting product line expansion and exploration of new offerings.
Scope included brand identity, packaging, naming, point-of-purchase displays, trade show environments, seasonal packaging, and digital touchpoints. I also refreshed and integrated packaging for Diego’s Chips, an acquired product line, aligning it with the broader brand system, and later developed the visual identity for the parent company, Open Road Snacks. The work supported retail expansion and increased category visibility, contributing to continued product line growth.
